The Plan of Salvation

God created you & loves you

The Bible says that God created everything, including you, and He made you with love and purpose. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-14)

He desires a personal relationship with you!

The problem:

Sin separates us from god

Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God’s ways; like lying, selfishness, pride, or hate.

The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Sin breaks our relationship with God and leads to spiritual death, which is eternal separation from Him. (Romans 6:23)

The Good news:

Jesus died for you!

God didn’t leave us in our brokeness. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us. (John 3:16)

Jesus lived a perfect life and then willingly died on a cross to take the punishment for our sins.

Three days later, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

The response:

Believe and Receive

Salvation isn’t about being “good enough” or doing religious rituals. It’s a gift from God, received by faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

To be saved, the Bible says you must:

  • Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you. (Romans 10:9)

  • Repent, which means turn away from sin and toward God. (Acts 3:19)

  • Receive Jesus as Lord (Boss) and Savior by faith. (John 1:12)

The Result:

New life with god

When you trust in Jesus, your sins are forgiven and you’re made new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You become a child of God and begin a new journey of following Him. (Romans 8:15-17)

You are promised eternal life with God, starting now and lasting forever. (John 5:24)

how to begin that journey

You can talk to God right now in a simple prayer like this:

“God, I know I’ve sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my old ways and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow You from this day forward. Amen”

If you prayed that prayer in faith, you have just been born again! Please go to our contact page and let us know. Then continue scrolling down to see your next steps in following Jesus.

Next Steps for a New Believer in Jesus

Celebrate your new life!

You’ve made the most important decision of your life, choosing to follow Jesus!

Take a moment to thank God for saving you and giving you a fresh start. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

get a Bible and start reading

Begin reading the gospel of John. It’s a great introduction to Jesus’ life and teachings.

Try to read a little each day and ask God to help you understand what you’re reading.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything right away. God will help you grow over time.

Talk to god every day (prayer)

Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. You can talk to Him about anything, your fears, hopes, questions, or gratitude.

He cares about you deeply. (1 Peter 5:7)

Take time in prayer to not only talk to Him but also, to listen to Him. Prayer is a conversation with God. (John 10:27)

find a bible believing Church

Church is not just a building. It’s a family of believers who grow, learn, and worship together.

Look for a local church that teaches the Bible and believes that Jesus is Lord.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions or reach out to a pastor. You can contact Life Church Salado through our contact page on this website.

If you’re in the Salado, TX area, come and visit us. We’d love to meet you and pray for you!

Get Baptized

Baptism is an outward sign of the inward change Jesus has made in you.

Jesus Himself was baptized, and He calls His followers to do the same. (Matthew 28:19)

It’s a public declaration that you now belong to Jesus.

Build christian friendships

Surround yourself with other believers who will encourage you, pray for you, and walk with you.

Join a small group or Bible study where you can learn and grow in community.

Keep learning and growing

Growing in your faith is a lifelong journey. Keep reading, asking questions, and seeking God.

Memorize key Bible verses that help strengthen your faith. (like Philippians 4:13, Romans 8:1, John 14:6)

Be patient with yourself. Growth takes time.

share your story

As you grow, tell others about the hope and peace you’ve found in Jesus.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Just share what Jesus has done in your life.

bonus tip

Start a simple journal where you write down what you’re learning, your prayers, and how God is working in your life.
